Kilbirnie On-Street Parking Survey Update
Last year, Wellington City Council conducted a parking survey across suburban areas
including Kilbirnie, to assess parking occupancy. The latest data for the week beginning 13 October 2024 shows that parking demand remained below 85% throughout the week (refer the diagram below).
Councillors have the discretion to impose parking restrictions, including paid parking in the future, which we will strongly oppose in our submissions to Council as required, to ensure fair and practical parking solutions for local businesses and visitors.
Please remind staff and customers to use street parking in our retail areas for short-term parking only, to enable a high turnover of parking spaces for retail customers. We're also seeing quite a few cars parked over the white lines separating parking spaces: please remind people in a friendly way to park considerately.
