Supporting Local Businesses After The Wash House Fire
In the early hours of 18th January, a fire broke out at The Wash House on Coutts Street, Kilbirnie.
The fire was well involved by the time emergency services arrived. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and the fire is not considered suspicious.
The Destination KRL team visited the site to connect with the team at The Wash House, as well as neighboring businesses, to offer support.
We also spoke to nearby businesses, including the A Taste of Greece and the Spice Emporium, both of which were fortunate to avoid any major damage. While A Taste of Greece Cafe reported some minor smoke in their shop, they are safe and continue to operate.
This event serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. For businesses in Kilbirnie and beyond, considering measures like business interruption insurance and disaster readiness is essential, especially in a region susceptible to natural events.
The KRL community is here to support The Wash House team and her neighbours through this challenging time. We encourage everyone to continue showing support for all local businesses as they navigate the recovery process.
